The 2nd International Congress of Economic and Administrative Studies (ULIC), organized by the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of our University, commenced with an opening ceremony held at the July 15th Congress and Culture Center. The ceremony was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Fatih YILMAZ, former Minister of State Metin GÜRDERE, Secretary General of the Tokat Special Provincial Administration Ahmet KAYHAN, Deputy Mayor Haydar ALPAT, Vice-Rectors, the Secretary General, Rector's Advisors, department heads, representatives of NGOs, academic and administrative staff, and a large number of students.
During the opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Yücel EROL, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, provided insights into the objectives and scientific scope of the congress. Prof. EROL emphasized that the congress serves as an international academic platform where contemporary developments in economic and administrative sciences are discussed and interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged. Aiming to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among scholars and researchers, Prof. EROL noted that 195 papers from 15 different countries would be presented this year.
In his address, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Fatih YILMAZ, highlighted the university's strategic vision for internationalization, stating:"This scientific platform, organized in collaboration with esteemed universities from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan to Ukraine, strengthens academic solidarity and provides valuable contributions to international science diplomacy. We view this international partnership as a tangible manifestation of the power of knowledge to transcend borders."
The Rector further noted that the congress aims to bring together academic research in economics, management, international relations, public policy, and other social science disciplines to generate multi-dimensional solutions to contemporary challenges. He concluded his speech by extending his gratitude to Prof. Dr. Nurullah GENÇ (Member of the Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye), Önder HAVUZLU (CEO of Profen Group), and all contributors for their valuable support.
The opening program was further enriched by a musical recital performed by students of the State Conservatory.
The first day of the congress continued with an opening panel featuring distinguished speakers. Prof. Dr. Nurullah GENÇ delivered a presentation titled "Contemplation and Construction: Mankurts and Rulers," while Önder HAVUZLU shared detailed insights on "Developing Technology: An Existential Matter for Nations."
Following the opening session, the congress proceeded with scientific presentations. Held between May 8–10, 2025, the congress featured numerous sessions on various themes, with significant contributions from both domestic and international academics.
